Day 39: Homer, Alaska

A Day Around Homer
Today was our day to roam around Homer, to take in many of the attractions.
A great way to get around town was the trolly (Narrated by a local resident)

Homer Trolley
Our first stop was to the accredited PRATT MUSEUM, dedicated to helping people enjoy the natural environment and human experiences in the Kachemak Bay region. Through exhibits, programs and various collections, the Pratt revealed the connection between people and place.

It’s now noon hour, so we drove over to the Spit, stopping momentarily to snap a shot of the Happy Face buoy that welcomes visitors to the Homer Spit.

No visit to Homer would be complete without  enjoying a warm bowl of clam chowder at CAPTAIN PATTIE’S RESTAURANT. Proclaimed by Alaskans and Tourist alike.... the chowder was the best that we.ve tasted.

It’s time now for a sip – of wine of course at the BEAR CREEK WINERY.   Ample samples of hand-crafted wines were complimentary in their tasting room.

Wine a Bit, You'll feel Better

On the way back to the Oceanview RV Park, we drove by the CAFE’ CUPS where on the previous day we enjoyed a delightful supper.

Back at the Park, Adventure Caravan staff and several caravan volunteers prepared a crumpous meal. Oh, those desserts were so decadent!
