Day 2 - Great Falls, Montana to Hill Springs, Canada

This is our first travel day, and what a great day to be traveling. Everyone was so excited about getting started. Our Wagon Master left the park at 7:00 am and the rest of the caravan were gone by 10:30 am.

Our first stop was at the Canada Border. We all just buzzed thru the border with no problems. And as we traveled we were surrounded with the beauty of the green wheat fields and yellow canola fields.  Jim tried to convince everyone that it was mustard plants, and they will see the ketchup plants at the next place we go to. (No one believed him)

Canola Fields
As tail gunners we are the last to arrive in the park.  Everyone had settled in very nicely and was gathering or eating outside their rigs.  We got a great picture of George and Ivy enjoying their dinner, and got to see several groups enjoying each other.

There was even a doggie gathering.

Just a few of our dogs
Chris and Daune were the hit of the night.  They went to town and came back with a great, great, great big container of ice cream and all the fixings.

Ice Cream Social

Chris and Daune are now in charge of our ”Buddy Bear” because of  the Ice Cream Social. (Buddy Bear is given to someone who does something nice for someone else)  Wow – they sure earned Buddy Bear.

  1. Hi Jim and Betty,
Thanks for sending this blog to us. We'll be "following" you with great interest, and reliving the trip we took with you in '09. AAh, the memories!
We'd love to do it again, but Madelyn's advancing Parkinson's make long trips like this difficult. We're settling for weekends, and our winter in FL.
    Keep the blogs coming!!
Are you going to put in a page of who the members of the tour are? And your itinerary?

    Thanks for including us!
