Today we traveled from Prince George, BC to Dawson Creek,
BC. It is a long drive, but very scenic
with wildlife, waterfalls and the river running along the road for a good
portion of the drive. We stopped at
Bijoux Falls along the way.

We also
stopped and had lunch at a pullout along the way. Some of us even considered throwing in a fish
line or two.
We then traveled on to the
town of Chetwynd which has earned the title of “Chain Saw Sculpture of the
World”. Several attended a tour provided
by the Tourism Center regarding the history of the town and the many sculptures
in the town (100 plus). They add 12 new
sculptures every year. There is a chain
saw festival in June.

After arriving in Dawson Creek, Keltie Durrell from Tourism Dawson Creek gave a delightful presentation to the group regarding the history of Dawson Creek and the Alaska Highway.
